  1. The City of Sandy Springs announced an upcoming public hearing to discuss its plans to increase property taxes this year by 3.85 percent over the rollback millage rate. A board of tax assessors is required to review the assessed value each year. The first of three meetings will be held on Aug. 9 at 4 p.m. in City Hall. (Sandy Springs)
  2. There are numerous dogs, cats, and other pets available for adoption in your area. Shelters in and around Sandy Springs are housing these could-be companions, only a handful of which will eventually be adopted. Look no further if you are looking to add a loving pet to your home.
