SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Rising high school sophomores and juniors who want to develop their leadership skills and learn more about Sandy Springs are invited to consider applying to participate in Youth Leadership Sandy Springs.

Current ninth- and 10th-grade students who live or attend school in Sandy Springs can apply for consideration to be included in the Class of 2020 for YLSS, which "offers a unique blend of out-of-the classroom learning experiences and leadership training during 10 program days throughout the school year."

This program, launched by Leadership Sandy Springs, gives students the chance to travel around Sandy Springs and the Central Perimeter area to learn about various aspects of the community. They will visit City Springs to see how local government works, meet with a Fulton County judge and tour the jail while learning about the criminal justice system, wade through creeks to explore environmental changes, visit local entrepreneurs and corporate business executives to understand possible career choices, and build communication and leadership skills through workshops and group activities.
