• House Blaze Fought By 28 Firefighters: Palatine FD (patch.com) — A house fire on the 200 block of N. Oak Street in Palatine drew 28 firefighters Monday evening, but all residents and two dogs escaped safely. Crews contained a basement fire that had spread into the walls and attic within about 40 minutes. Palatine fire officials are calling the blaze accidental and urging residents to check their smoke detectors and review home fire safety.
