Communities Win Funding To Address Youth Violence
A number of Boston-area communities recently secured state grant funding for programs addressing youth violence. One partnership is seeing Brookline and Boston collaborate on 20 total programs for at risk young people. A separate funded partnership has Malden working alongside Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Quincy, Revere, Somerville and Winthrop.
Lights came back on in Malden Tuesday afternoon after an earlier power outage impacted several hundreds residents, officials said.

Federal Budget Includes Millions For Boston Area Communities
The $1.7 trillion deal approved in Congress last week is steering millions of dollars toward individual projects throughout Massachusetts in the form of earmarks, now known as “community project funding” and “congressionally-directed spending.” Funding includes earmarks ranging from $1.5 million for solar infrastructure at Carr Park in Medford to $7 million for Commuter Rail station upgrades in Newton.
