5 Malden Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season

Malden has a diverse group of charities that could use additional support.

MALDEN, MA — If you’re like many of your Malden neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.

Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups. Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.
Maintaining funding is a constant challenge for many nonprofits that fill gaps and meet other needs in the Malden area.

Here are five local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:

  1. Bread of Life Food Pantry: Located on Eastern Avenue, the Bread of Life provides free dinner four nights each week, grocery delivery for senior citizens, and food delivery to homeless families who reside in local motels.
  2. Immigrant Learning Center, Inc.: The Immigrant Learning Center, located on Main Street, provides free educational services and programs that help immigrants and refugees find adequate employment.
  3. Triangle, Inc.: Founded in 1971, Triangle offers people with disabilities career and leadership opportunities.
  4. Pine Banks Park Foundation: The Foundation's purpose is to fund the operation and maintenance of Pine Banks, a 107-acre park on Main Street that includes woodland walking trails, a playground, baseball fields, and a running track.
  5. Jules Andre Mentor Foundation: Jules Andre Mentor founded his namesake organization, which originated with a trip to Haiti in 2010 to provide relief to earthquake victims. Locally, the foundation seeks to instill financial stability, independence, and educational success in its community members through its socialization programs.
