Malden, Brookline Residents To Perform In Feel-Good Musical ‘The Prom’

Malden resident Meagan Lewis-Michelson and Brookline resident Lisa Yuen are set to take to the stage in "The Prom" this summer.

MALDEN, MA – Malden resident Meagan Lewis-Michelson and Brookline resident Lisa Yuen are set to take to the stage in The Prom this summer.

The Prom is a feel-good musical that tells the story of an Indiana high school student who wants to take her girlfriend to prom, when four Broadway has-beens barge into town to shine a spotlight on the issue – and themselves.

“Non-stop laughs and show-stopping dance numbers make The Prom a feel-good musical with a message more timely than ever,” SpeakEasy Stage Company officials said in a news release.

Lewis-Michelson makes her SpeakEasy Stage debut as Sheldon Saperstein in The Prom, and has appeared in a number of regional productions, as well as off-Broadway in The Big Bang Theory and in the national tour of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She has a bachelor's degree from Harvard College and a master's degree from Boston Conservatory.

Yuen portrays Angie Dickinson in The Prom and has appeared in two Broadway shows, three national tours, two off-Broadway productions, and over 40 regional shows. Her Boston-area credits include Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, and Mary Poppins.

The Prom runs from May 5 until June 3 at The Roberts Studio Theatre in the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts, located at 527 Tremont St. More information is available at this link.
