ICYMI: Want To Be A Marlborough Police Officer?
The Marlborough Police Department is looking for two to three candidates.

MARLBOROUGH, MA—The Marlborough Police Department, in conjunction with Police Exam Solutions (PES), is searching for talented candidates to register for the upcoming Police Officer Entrance Exam.
The exam is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Marlborough High School. Registration ends at 9 a.m, Friday, Oct. 20, or when the maximum capacity is reached; whichever comes first. You must arrive at the test site by 8:15 a.m. The exam begins promptly at 9 a.m. Once the test has begun, no admittance will be permitted under any circumstances. The exam fee is $125 and is non-refundable.
"The police department is committed to ensuring public safety through a combination of education and law enforcement efforts in partnership with the community," writes Chief David Giorgi. "The Marlborough Police Department consists of 65 sworn officers and 15 civilian employees, and serves a diversified population of approximately 40,000 residents. The department offers a variety of specialized units supplementing the patrol force including K-9, Community Policing, Community Services, detective’s bureau and motorcycle patrol."

In order to be eligible for a position, all candidates must be able to meet the following basic qualifications:
- Must be 21 years of age, and no older than 35 years of age at the time of the exam.
- Non-Smoker pursuant to M.G.L. c41, s101A.
- Possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. at time of exam. Preference may be given to applicants possessing a college degree, military experience or a combination of both.
- Provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
- Must possess a valid Massachusetts driver’s license, or obtain one prior to appointment.
- Must reside within 15 miles of the border of the Town of Wayland within one year of appointment. Relocation expenses are not provided. Time will be allowed for relocation associated with appointment.
- Must possess, or qualify for a Massachusetts Firearms License To Carry (LTC) permit, class-A.
- Have NO Felony convictions.
- Must complete a satisfactory background examination.
- Must pass written entrance examination.
- Must be able to complete a physical examination and psychological examination, provided by the Town of Wayland.
- Must possess the ability to complete all the requirements established by the Massachusetts Municipal Training Council to be a certified police officer in Massachusetts.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete Oral board interviews.
- Must submit a cover letter & resume.
The multiple choice exam evaluates how candidates manage stress and responsibility as well as their emotional and interpersonal skills, work ethic, problem solving and levels of comprehension in reading, writing and math.
