High school football coaches have taken many different approaches to getting a leg up on the competition over the years, but Medford High coach Rico Dello Iacono may have hit upon a new one - Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
The city began installing reflective traffic medians on High Street and Canal Street Monday, as it continues to work to keep train horns silent, Mayor Michael McGlynn said in a press release. Horns sounded for about a week in June after the city failed to get in compliance with a federal law calling for safety improvements at locomotive intersections.

A Charlestown man has been indicted on charges alleging he killed a man at a Jerome Street home in February, prosecutors said. Investigators were led to Gerald Sullivan, 37, by DNA collected at 55 Jerome Street that was matched with a sample in a criminal database, according to a statement from Middlesex County District Attorney Gerry Leone.
A new parking garage on Governors Avenue would have about 200 spaces, cost about $7 million and be built by around the end of next year -- if the City Council chooses to fund it with a bond, Mayor Michael McGlynn said Wednesday.
