Century-old Chocolate Business Arrives In Newton

Hilliards Chocolates now has four Massachusetts locations.

NEWTON, MA — City leaders and community members gathered to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony of a new business Friday afternoon.

Hilliards Chocolates launched its newest location at 1 Chestnut St. in West Newton. The fourth-generation family business was founded in 1924 and also has spots in Norwell, Mansfield, and North Easton. It is now led by the founders’ great-granddaughter Maegan McCarthy Dec. The business’s offerings are headlined by handcrafted chocolate, ice cream, and custom gifting for holidays, weddings, and corporate events.

After the ribbon-cutting, the 2,400 square-foot store was opened to the public for an open house for three hours.
