Goodwill Opens New Attended Donation Center in Newton

Center located at 295 California Street at the American Legion Post 440

BOSTON (May 28, 2025) – Beginning Monday, June 2, residents of Newton and surrounding communities will have a local and convenient way to donate their clothing, household goods, and other items to Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries.

“Goodwill is a community-based nonprofit organization. Its mission is to help individuals with barriers to self-sufficiency to achieve independence and dignity through work,” said Joanne K. Hilferty, President and CEO of Goodwill. “Community donations support our retail social enterprise, which helps individuals in our job training and career programs find jobs and makes low cost, quality goods available to individuals and families looking to stretch their dollars.”

The Newton donation center will be open and staffed seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and tax receipts will be available. The address is 295 California Street in the American Legion Post 440 parking lot.

Locally, Goodwill collects more than 25 million pounds of donations every year. Goodwill accepts clothing, textiles, shoes, accessories, books, small working appliances, household items, small furniture, antiques, collectibles, and more.
