MLK Celebration Details Announced In Newton

The Harmony Foundation organizes the yearly event.

NEWTON, MA — The Harmony Foundation announced Thursday that the city’s 57th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration will take place on Monday, Jan. 20 2025.

The First Unitarian Universalist Society on 1326 Washington St. is taking up the mantel of hosting this edition. The theme is titled: “"Only When It is Dark Enough Can You See the Stars,” in reference to Dr. King’s final speech known as “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop.”

“This will be an opportunity for the Harmony Foundation, our event partners, and community members to join together for reflection, music, student voices, children's programming, a reception, and more,” The Harmony Foundation Board said in a joint statement.
