Newton Breaks Ground On Elementary School Project
The new school is scheduled to open sometime in late 2026.

NEWTON, MA — City leaders broke ground on a new school construction project earlier this week.
Countryside Elementary School is slated to open in approximately 18 months on the corner of Dedham and Walnut Streets. Mayor Ruthanne Fuller noted one major feature of the new building will be the use of geothermal heating and air conditioning technology. She expressed gratitude to the Massachusetts School Building Authority, Superintendent of Schools Anna Nolin, and residents who supported a tax override to fund the creation of the new institution.
Beth Herlihy is going to be the principal of Countryside.
