Alissa is a founder and judge of the Boston Children's Poetry competition, a poetry contest for kids ages 4-14 who live or study in Massachusetts. The competition is now in its 3rd year and over 1,000 students from 45 schools participated at this point. She recruited the judges, reached out to the schools, judged the poems, and awarded prizes to aspiring poets (see her story at www.bostonchildrenspoetry.org/about). She is also a winner of the numerous awards at the Model UN Conferences for the best delegate and serves as her school's Secretary-General of the Club. She also plays varsity lacrosse and volleyball while participating in the school theater and in the bilingual community theater in Newton. She loves poetry and performing arts and hopes to spread her passion to other kids.
