This Somerville Neighborhood Has A Halloweekend Of Family-friendly Events Planned

SOMERVILLE, MA — Assembly Row is hosting a weekend of free Halloween activities geared toward families at The Lawn Bar.

The “Halloween Hauntings” weekend is slated to begin with a movie night on Friday, Oct. 24 with a screening of the Disney children’s movie Halloweentown. Seating will available on a first-come basis, however Assembly is encouraging families to bring lawn chairs. The bar will be open, offering snacks and refreshments.

The festivities will resume the next day at 1 p.m. for dog Halloween costume social event. The “Howl-o-ween Yappy Hour” will also offer treats and prizes for four-legged attendees.

The weekend will conclude with “Trick-or-Treat for a Cause” where kids can collect candy throughout the square by following instructions. The event will include a DJ playing spooky-themed music. The event-leaders will be collecting hygiene products for PROJECT SOUP, a Somerville-based nonprofit that collects food and other essential items for the less fortunate.

Assembly Row will be appropriately decorated with floating pumpkins, hay bales, scarecrows, and a large inflatable jack-o’-lantern.
