SomerStreets’ Monster Mash Coming To Somerville Ave Oct. 30

SOMERVILLE, MA — SomerStreets: Monster Mash, the final SomerStreets festival of the year, will take over Somerville Avenue on Sunday, Oct. 30, from 2 to 6 p.m. with a rain date of Nov. 6.

Join the family-friendly festivities for tricks and treats between School St. and Warren Ave., including:

• The annual costume parade, led by School of HONK. Meet at 3 p.m. at the Somerville Avenue/Warren Avenue intersection to join.
• Ghosts of Milk Row Cemetery tours, presented by the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission and the Somerville Museum. Head to the 19th-century burial grounds at 400 Somerville Ave. between 2 and 4 p.m.
• Pumpkin carving with Somerville Recreation.
• A Día de los Muertos celebration activity with Estela Calzada.
• Handstands, juggling, acrobatics, and comedy for all ages with Cate the Great.
• Magic tricks with Just Felice.
• Vintage vendors with Blue Bandana Relics.
• Parkour, mini golf, the Roaming Railroad, and more games galore.

To ensure public safety at the event, Somerville Avenue will close to motor vehicles between School Street and Warren Avenue from 12 to 8 p.m., with parking restrictions starting at 10 a.m. Bow Street, Quincy Street, and Church Street will support two-way traffic to allow access for abutters. SomerStreets is Somerville’s annual series of street festivals that close busy streets to cars and open them to the community. Through SomerStreets, the City and its community partners aim to promote and encourage physical activity, access to fresh foods, and reconnecting with neighborhoods and businesses.
