Somerville Police Announce Funeral Services For Officer Randy Isaacs

A wake will be held on Friday, July 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. and the funeral will take place on Saturday, July 2 at 10 a.m.

SOMERVILLE, MA — The Somerville Police Department has released information on funeral services for active duty Officer Randy Isaacs.

According to the department, a wake will be held on Friday, July 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Doherty’s Funeral Home, located at 855 Broadway in Somerville.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, July 2 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Church, located at 2270 Mass Ave in Cambridge. It will be immediately followed by a burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.

Isaacs was a member of the Somerville Police Department and community for 15 years and is described as a “beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend.”

"Officer Isaacs was an integral member of the Somerville Police Department, bringing laughter to everyone he interacted with,” the department said in a statement.

Isaacs also served in the Army National Guard for 24 years, earning the rank of Master Sergeant of the 26th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade. During his service, he was deployed to Kosovo and Afghanistan.

"Officer Isaacs is a true American Hero, who dedicated his life to service,” the department said.

The cause of Isaacs’ death has not been released.
