Songwriters Returning To The Round In Somerville
Four musicians will provide entertainment at the upcoming free event.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Songwriters in the Round, a free event featuring performances from local musicians, is coming to the Armory Cafe on Highland Avenue on Wednesday, Feb. 19.
The concert is sponsored by the Somerville Arts Council, which is an organization supported by the Mass Cultural Council. Mark Simos, Rene Pfister, Lindsey Foote, and Ryan Culkins are the singer-songwriters slated to perform.
Simos is a mentor for young aspiring musicians at Berklee College of Music. The Armory’s David Thorne Scott said that Simos rarely performs, and is excited that he is headlining the upcoming performance.

Pfister also works at Berklee as an Associate Professor of Music and Artistic Director of The Berklee Theatre Arts Collaborative. He has taught in multiple continents and is also an author.
Foote has been featured on networks such as CBS for her style that mixes Americana, folk, and pop. Her resume includes winning second place in the Songwriter Serenade Competition.

Calkins is a Massachusetts native who specializes in acoustic creations. He plans on releasing an album during the calendar year.
