However, New England Patriots punter Ryan Allen has managed to make a name for himself in the week leading up to the big game – at least in Malden.

Allen helped fulfill Malden Catholic Headmaster Thomas Doherty’s Twitter challenge to students by retweeting the following tweet Tuesday:

On Wednesday, the tweet hit the necessary 2,500 retweets by noon Friday, so it’s official: Malden Catholic students have Super Bowl Monday off.
In addition to Allen, other notable retweeters include former Patriots players Kevin Faulk,Jermaine Wiggins and Andre Carter, Bruins defenseman Torey Krug and Red Sox first baseman Mike Napoli.
