Three Kings Celebration Upcoming In Somerville
The Christian feast day is in honor of the Magi who travelled to see the birth of Jesus.
SOMERVILLE, MA — Mayor Katjana Ballantyne announced that the city will be holding a Three Kings Day Celebration on Sunday, January 5.
The day is known as a Christian feast day that celebrates the Three Magi who followed the North Star to attend the birth of Jesus. The event will be held at the Prospect Hill Charter School on 17 Prospect St. from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Somerville has partnered with Saint Benedict Church and Somerviva Office of Immigrant Affairs to put the celebration together. According to Ballantyne’s office, the day will also include city department resource tables and activities for children.
“Immerse yourself in the spirit of community, culture, and goodwill as we come together to celebrate this cherished tradition,” Ballantyne said in a statement.
