Jewelry Stolen from 2 Watertown Homes During Daylight Break Ins
A burglar broke into two homes on Fayette Street after the break ins.

A burglar broke into two homes on Fayette Street in Watertown and made off with thousands of dollars worth of jewelry.
On Jan. 29 at 6:46 p.m. the resident of a home on Fayette Street near Whites Avenue called police to report that someone had pried open the front door and stole $3,000 worth of jewelry, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.
Police also heard from the resident of the other side of the two-family home also discovered that the window on the front door was broken and $20,000 worth of jewelry was taken, Lawn said.

The same day, police received a call about a potential suspect, Lawn said.
"At 1:40 p.m. we received a call about a suspicious male cutting through the yard of a home on Hudson Street – which is near Fayette Street – carrying a barrel" Lawn said.

The man was described as being between 20 and 30 years of age, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and had dark facial hair, Lawn said.
