Memorial Day Week in Watertown is Much More than Just the Parade
Flags will be placed on veteran's graves, Taps played at memorials and the Memorial Day Parade.

Watertown will salute its veterans in many ways this week, all leading up to the big Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27.
Flags will be placed at the graves of veterans, vets will visit schools and ceremonies will be held at numerous memorials around town.

Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 5 p.m.: Placing of Flags at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery (Rain Date Thursday, May 23, 2013)

Flags will be placed at veteran’s graves at all Watertown cemeteries by veteran organizations. Volunteers are always welcome.
Friday, May 24, 2013: Veteran’s School Visitations
9 a.m. Watertown High School
9 a.m. Lowell School
10 a.m. Cunniff School
10 a.m. Middle School
11 a.m. Hosmer School
Sunday, May 26, 2013: Morning Services and Dedications
Veteran’s Organizations visit designated locations, place wreaths, do a reading, play Taps, and fire weapons.
8:30 a.m. Coolidge Square POW/MIA Monument (no fire, no Taps)
8:45 a.m. WWI Memorial Stone (front of Shutt Detachment), USMC Fires
9 a.m. Charles River Float, USMC Fires
9:15 a.m. WWII Memorial Stone (front of Town Hall), USMC Fires
9:30 a.m. Saltonstall Park, USMC Fires
10 a.m. Memorial Service at Saint Patrick’s Church
Monday, May 27, 2013: Morning Dedications and Parade
8:30 a.m. Cottage Street Cemetery, USMC Fires
8:55 a.m. Common Street Cemetery, USMC Fires
9:10 a.m. Ridgelawn Cemetery, USMC Fires
9:30 a.m. Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, USMC Fires
10:30 a.m-11:30 a.m. Check in for Parade Entries at Tufts Plan Parking Lot
