Two Motorcycles Stolen in Watertown, Another Damaged

Police seek suspects in the two thefts from Watertown homes.

Two motorcycles were stolen from outside of Watertown homes and another was damaged last week.

The first motorcycle to go missing was a 2003 Kawasaki, taken from School Street, said Watertown Police Sgt. Thomas Grady.

The motorcycle was parked in the parking lot of the owner's building and was taken sometime between 10 p.m. on April 30 and 7 a.m. on May 1.

On May 3, a Riverside Street resident came out and found that someone had taken his 2013 Honda motorcycle, Grady said.

"It was parked on the corner of Alfred and Riverside on the sidewalk, and when the owner came out to start it up and go to work he noticed it was gone," Grady said.

A 2006 Yamaha was damaged at a home on Boylston Street at around 5 p.m. on April 30, Grady said.

"Someone tampered with one of the cables used to operate the motorcycle," Grady said. "It is unknown if it was an attempt to damage the motorcycle or steal the motorcycle."

This is not the first time that motorcycles have been stolen in town, Grady said, and thieves sometimes take them by lifting them into the back of the truck.

Police continue to investigate.
