Watertown Police Will Share Details of the Shootout, Capture of Marathon Bombing Suspects

Police officials will discuss the events of April 19 during a community event on May 29.

Find out more about the chase, battle with and capture of the Boston Marathon Bombing suspects and get your questions answered by the Watertown Police during a community forum on Wednesday, May 29. 

The event, planned by the Watertown Police Foundation, will begin at 7 p.m. at Watertown High School. 

Police will share as many details as they can about the shootout with the bombing suspects at Laurel Street and Dexter Avenue, and the capture of the second suspect in the boat on Franklin Street, according to an announcement from the foundation.

Members of the audience will be able to ask questions by writing them down and passing them up during the meeting.

The Watertown Police Foundation is selling "Watertown Strong" T-shirts that feature the WPD emblem. Proceeds will be used to assist those impacted by the events of April 19, and to strengthen the relationship between the Watertown Police and town residents.
