WHS Sports: Runners Place Well at Division Meet, Raiders Host Baseball Tourney Game
The Watertown baseball and softball teams both earned spots in the postseason.

Watertown High School runners showed they could compete with the best at the MIAA East Div. 4 Meet on Sunday, with two runners finishing second and others scoring points.
Watertown junior James Garbier took second place in the 800 meters at the Div. 4 Outdoor Track Meet at North Reading High School with a time of 1:58.73, according to results on Milesplit.com.
On the girls side senior Christelle Madou’s time of 13.32 seconds in the 100 meters earned her second place in the Div. 4 Track Meet.

The Raiders’ boys 4 x 400 relay also had success, placing third with a time of 3:36.59.
Watertown junior Lea Strangio placed fourth in the girls 400 meters with her time of 1:01.58. With a throw of 24-feet-4.5-inches placed junior Casey Halle sixth at the meet.

The Watertown boys track team placed 14th and the girls finished 19th.

Baseball Hosts Tourney Game
The seedings for the MIAA Div. 3 North Section baseball tournament are out and Watertown earned the 16th seed and a home game.
The Raiders (9-11) will face No. 17 seed Swampscott (9-11) in a preliminary round game at Victory Field. The game is scheduled for Thursday, May 30 at 4 p.m. The winner plays No. 1 seed North Reading on June 1 at 4 p.m.
Watertown Softball Headed to Postseason
The Raiders softball team made the Div. 3 North Tournament and will head to Whittier on Saturday, June 1 at 4 p.m.
Watertown (4-14) got the 23rd seed and faces No. 10 seed Whittier, which has a record of 14-6. The winner faces Georgetown on June 2 at 4 p.m.
