Woman Ripped Off by Craigslist Scam for Cell Phone

The woman met the seller at the Arsenal Mall and came away with no phone.

A woman agreed to buy a cell phone from a seller on Craigslist, and when they met at the Arsenal Mall she gave her the money but did not receive the phone.

On May 16, the woman met the seller near Old Navy at the mall, and brought $265 for the phone, said Watertown Police Lt. Michael Lawn.

"A woman asked if she was there to buy a cell phone, and she said yes," Lawn said. "She gave her the money and the woman took it and fled out the service entrance. She never received the phone."
