New Director Named For Wayland Free Public Library
The acting director has now been made the director of the Wayland Free Public Library.

WAYLAND, MA—The Wayland Board of Library Trustees announced on Thursday the appointment of Acting Director Sandy Raymond as the new director of the Wayland Free Public Library, effective immediately. Raymond has served as acting director since late June 2017 and prior to that has served as assistant director of the WFPL. Raymond joined the WFPL staff in 2003, and has more than 30 years of library experience in both corporate and public libraries.
“Sandy is deeply devoted to the Library and very aware of the place the Library has in the hearts of the people of Wayland,” said Board of Library Trustees Chair Aida Gennis in a statement. "Sandy has a strong rapport with staff and has encouraged staff to develop and lead classes covering a wide range of interests and for many age groups." Raymond also serves on the Library Planning Committee and has been an active and instrumental member in its work.
“I love the Wayland Free Public Library. I sincerely enjoy working with my colleagues,” said Raymond in a statement. “I am a strong believer in the importance of libraries to the well-being and future of communities.”
