Ocean Gate Fire Department Training Exercise Slated For Monday Night

Increased water flow at a hydrant on East Chelsea could result in discolored water, alert says

OCEAN GATE, NJ - Residents of East Chelsea Avenue may experience discolored water on Monday night when the Ocean Gate Fire Department conducts a training exercise on the 100 block of the roadway, according to the department's Facebook page.

The exercise will begin at 7 p.m. by the fire hydrant in front of East Chelsea.

"We anticipate flowing a large amount of water through the water system," the post states. "As a result, the increased water flow will likely loosen residual silt and sediment in the water lines and discoloration of water service to nearby residents will likely result."
