The following information was originally published on the City of Summit's website.
The Annual Summit PAL Egg Hunt is set for Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM. This year’s hunt will take place at Summit’s beautiful Village Green located at the intersection of Maple and Broad Streets. The Village Green is directly across from the Summit Train Station. This FREE family event has become a Summit tradition as the Summit PAL hosts this annual celebration of spring.
This extremely popular event will feature three separate hunts. The first is the Kids Hunt for children ages 5 & up. The second is the Pre School Hunt for ages 3 & 4 years old. The third is the Toddler Hunt for 2 & under. The Guest of Honor will be the Easter Bunny! Parents are urged to bring their cameras for a photo with the Bunny, Shark Diddy the Family Aquatic Center Mascot and Mc Muni the mascot of the Summit Municipal Golf Course.
There’s plenty of fun and entertainment too! Polka Dot will entertain the kids with his family friendly sing along while a Stiltwalker will make the day even more special. Baskets are available for FREE, but you are welcome to bring along your child’s basket for collecting eggs. There is one large grand prize for each Hunt along with 11 other prizes, all hidden in eggs for each hunt.
Parents are urged to come early and enjoy the music by Summit Soundz and the children’s entertainment. The eggs have prizes and candy in them. The Toddler Hunt eggs are empty for safety reasons. All three hunts will have golden eggs that contain the message “You have won a prize”! They will be redeemed on the big Showmobile Stage. The Summit PAL also holds a great free raffle with prizes as well.
The Summit PAL is a volunteer organization that is funded through grants and donations. They do remarkable work on behalf of the children of this community. The Summit Department of Community Programs partners with the Summit PAL on this annual event.
In case of rain, the event will be re-scheduled for Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Questionable weather? Call the Department of Community Programs at 908-277-2932.
