High School Students Can Win Up to $500 in Summit Elks Flag Day Poster Contest

All high school students are welcome to enter the poster contest to commemorate Flag Day sponsored by the Summit Elks.


The following information was provided by the Summit Elks.

Summit Elks Lodge No. 1246 is proud to announce that it is sponsoring a Poster Contest Commemorating the United States of America’s 236th Flag Day on June 14, 2013. The contest is open to all Summit, New Providence, and Chatham high school students. High school students who have a parent who is a member of Summit Elks Lodge No. 1246 and who are attending high school outside of Summit, New Providence, and/or Chatham are also eligible to enter.

Prizes:

1st Place: $500 2nd Place: $300 3rd Place: $200

Format & Submission of Poster Entries: One page Adobe PDF letter size (8.5 inch by 11 inch) file. Poster submissions should be emailed to robert.j.peacock@gmail.com. Email submissions must be time stamped on or before May 17, 2013, 5:00 pm. All Poster Submissions must be original, and created by the student. The Adobe PDF Poster submission file must also include:

  1. Student’s Name,

  • Name of Student’s School and Grade, and

  • Student’s Email address and phone number.

  • Poster winners will be announced and cash prizes awarded on Friday evening, June 14, 2013, at the Flag Day Celebration of the 236th Flag Day of the United States of America on the Village Green in Summit. Any poster submitted may be published in Elks Magazine, and used for United States Flag Day promotional purposes.

    The Summit Elks reserve the right to use any Poster Submission received before the May 17th Contest Deadline in conjunction with the creation of promotional Flag Day Flyers and/or for the actual Flag Day Program. If an early Poster Submission is used for one or both of these purposes, that entry will be awarded one of the three prizes. Early Poster Submissions prior to the May 17th Deadline are therefore encouraged.
