How Summit Commuters Can Get To NYC On Limited Schedule: UPDATE
Rail service will now resume on a modified schedule for Morris & Essex and Gladstone lines. Boxcar has also added more buses from Summit.

SUMMIT, NJ — After two storms caused damage to wires along the Morris & Essex train route, NJ Transit announced Monday afternoon that rail service will resume on a limited schedule starting Monday evening.
Summit commuters can now take trains on both Morris & Essex and Gladstone lines on a modified schedule. The Gladstone Branch will operate between Gladstone and Summit only, according to NJ Transit's recent announcement.

Gladstone Branch customers can also transfer at Summit for destinations east of Summit.

Boxcar also added more roundtrip buses running from Summit to midtown in New York City.
The bus company announced Sunday night that Boxcar secured one bus for another roundtrip on its Ridgeliner route. This bus will depart from Summit at 7:30 a.m., as well as Berkeley Heights at 7:10 a.m. and New Providence at 7:20 a.m., and return from midtown at 5 p.m.
Boxcar also offers buses on the Ridgeliner route departing from Summit at 6:15 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Buses pick up directly outside town train stations and offer curbside drop-off throughout midtown. See map here.
In the evening, buses leave from 6th Ave (just south of 43rd St) and travel directly back to train station pickup locations.
All Boxcar buses are equipped with wi-fi, power outlets and restrooms. Each ticket costs $19.99, or $14.99 with a Boxcar Commuter membership. Customers can now book seats on the Boxcar app.
