Summit Fire Department Donates Hazmat Kits To Ukrainians In Need
The Fire Department donated 10 hazmat kits for under-equipped fire stations in Ukraine as part of an equipment drive with Clifton Fire Dept.
SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit Fire Department has donated supplies to help support under-equipped fire departments in Ukraine at this time.
The Fire Department donated 10 "level B" hazmat kits as part of a Clifton Fire Department and FMBA21 equipment drive running now through March 23.
These hazmat kits contain turnout gear, tools and breathing equipment required to operate at hazardous materials incidents, as well as various essential medical supplies.

Donated items will be distributed directly to Ukraine stations in need, according to the City of Summit.
More than 400 sets of turnout gear have been donated by area fire departments. To donate or for more information, visit the Clifton FMBA 21 website at cliftonfmba21.com.

Summit is also collecting basic necessities for Ukrainians in need as part of a donation drive with Union County. A donation box is located at the Summit Police Department, and the program will run for the foreseeable future, as long as continued aid is needed.
People are encouraged to bring donations of first aid supplies, toiletries, flashlights, blankets, batteries, clothing, shoes, diapers, formula and more.
