Summit Mommies: This Moms Group is For You

Mommies 24/7 is a unique outlet for moms to chat with other local moms and attend events about all things, well, Mom related. 

Stacey Chaleff became a part of the network while having her first child when living in Hoboken and she decided to start the first franchise of the network in the Summit/Chatham area earlier this year.

The sites connect moms online and in person with playdates, family fun nights, expectant mother socials and exciting nights out for moms. The sites publish original content, list local businesses and events, and review trusted service providers. Moms can create free profiles to meet and share tips whether they’re raising newborns, teenagers or anything in between.

Chaleff, her husband and infant son are trying to make the move from Hoboken to the Summit area and during the summer she had discussed with her husband her interest in starting her own Mommies 24/7 network once they left Hoboken.

There really weren’t any moms groups like this in the area, Chaleff said.

“It’s fun, it gives moms a reason go out for lunch and I know for me that was a huge thing I knew I had Tuesday from 12 to 3 I knew I was doing lunch with my son and meeting other moms and just talking about baby stuff or toddler stuff or what I watched on T.V. last night,” she said of Summit Mommies 24/7.  “It’s pretty much all of that rolled into one thing.”

Although the couple is still searching for their new home in the area, the website and events are already happening. Summit Mommies 24/7 is a site for moms not only in Summit, but in all nearby communities such as Chatham, Madison, New Providence, Berkeley Heights, Springfield, Westfield and anyone else who is interested in being a part of their forums and events.

Some of the events Summit Mommies runs are things like lunches with moms and children that included guest speakers, such as pediatricians and nutritionists. Also, the group has “Mommy’s Night Outs,” which are basically a ladies’ night out, Chaleff said. Also, the group has family fun events at places like Kidville, but Chaleff said they are trying to spread out events in all nearby communities.

“Once we kind of lockdown different locations and restaurants to have lunches it will be easier to have moms come out and these towns are so close together,” she said. “I don’t want other people to feel excluded like it’s just a summit thing, it’s not it’s open to all towns.”

So far, Chaleff said the response has been pretty good about the organization but she expects things to pick up once the warmer weather arrives. The organization already has 160 members.

“I think people are definitely responsive to it” Chaleff explained. “They enjoy that we’re in town, that we’re doing lunches or a mommies night out and I think that it’s definitely great thing that we’re in town.”

Chaleff is hoping to gauge what moms in Summit and nearby towns really want from the organization and wants to get feedback from moms on different activities that Summit Mommies should plan.

Another aspect of Summit Mommies is there articles on recalls that Chaleff puts together as well as other guest blogs. She added that there is a classified section where moms can buy and sell baby or toddler products.

“Once we get more members it will be more popular, it’ll be like a little eBay through our site for baby products.”

Being a part of the community is a main goal for Summit Mommies, Chaleff said.

The organization has been getting involved with local businesses as a part of the site’s “Deals,” section, where Summit Mommies can get specials at local businesses.

Being a mom is obviously a driving force behind Chaleff’s dedication to Summit Mommies.

“I love to be a mom, I love to do everything based around the whole website,” she stated. “We’re here for any mom in the local area that wants to be a part of our group.”
