Summit Speech And Debate Team Wins 2nd Place At State Tournament
Summit High School's debate team took home the silver at the New Jersey Speech and Debate League's State Championship last week.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit High School Speech and Debate Team took home the silver at the state championship last week.
The New Jersey Speech and Debate League's State Championship was held at Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington on March 18 and 19. Summit's debate team won second place in the Overall Team Sweepstakes awards and second in Overall Speech Sweepstakes.
In addition, three students ranked first place in the state, and more than 20 students ranked as finalists.

The three state champions won a cash scholarship and will be recognized at the Governor's Awards in Arts Education in May.
“The State Tournament is the best of the best in New Jersey,” Anne Poyner, Coach of the Speech and Debate Team, said. “We are so proud of everyone on our large team!”
