Tell Us! What Do You Want to See From Pope Francis?

This afternoon Argentina's Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected as the 266th pope.

White smoke billowed above the Sistine Chapel at around 2:09 p.m. eastern time on March 13 declaring that a new pope was chosen by the College of Cardinals.

A little over an hour later, CNN reported that at about 3:15 p.m. eastern time, it was announced at the balcony overlooking St. Peter’s Square that Argentina's Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was chosen as the next Pope.

Bergoglio is the first non-European pope in the modern era, as well as the first South American pope and he also is the first Pope to choose the name Francis, according to CNN.

"He rides the bus, visits the poor, lives in a simple apartment and cooks his own meals," the Catholic News Service reported. "To many in Buenos Aires, he is known simply as 'Father Jorge.'"

Where do you hope Pope Francis will take the Catholic Church? What are you hoping he will do for Catholics around the world? Tell us in the comments!
