Weekend Summit Car Theft Attempted By Masked Individuals: Police
The two men entered unlocked vehicles in Summit on Saturday and sped off in a stolen BMW, according to a police alert.

SUMMIT, NJ — Two men wearing masks entered unlocked vehicles in Summit over the weekend, according to a Nixle alert from Summit police.
The two unlocked vehicles were located in front of a residence on Hillcrest Avenue in the area of Beechwood Road on Saturday, the alert said.
According to Acting Chief Steven Zagorski, the masked men entered the vehicles at around 3:22 p.m. but quickly exited the cars when confronted by the homeowner. They then got into a stolen white BMW x3 and drove off toward Woodland Avenue.

Residents are urged to contact Summit police if any suspicious activity or the vehicle in question is observed.
The stolen BMW has the NJ Registration D93NUGH, police added.
