Mother of 2 From Wyckoff Diagnosed With Cancer, Fundraiser Started

"Superhero" Stacy La Vacca, a single mother of two in Wyckoff, was diagnosed with cancer, and her friend organized a GoFundMe page for her.

WYCKOFF, NJ — Admiringly referred to as "Superhero Stacy La Vacca," the single mother of two children, who "always opens her heart and home" to others, was diagnosed earlier this year with an aggressive form of breast cancer, a GoFundMe page said last week.

"If anyone knows Stacy, they know that even such a devastating diagnosis doesn't stop her from pushing forward every day, continuing to show compassion and kindness to the ones she loves," La Vacca's friend Christine Socarras who organized the fundraiser, said.

In return for La Vacca's generosity of spirit, Socarras, of Wyckoff, said that she is asking people to step in to give her some "Stacy love," amid the challenging circumstances.
