Watch: Mom Has Meltdown at LaGuardia Over 12-Hour Delay
"You lied to me! You lied to me!"
QUEENS, NY — A small shred of every New Yorker's LaGuardia pain was captured, recently, in the shrieks of one sacrificial New York mom, her tragic and epic meltdown at America's most-delayed airport caught on camera by fellow passengers with smartphones ready.
The Daily Mail uploaded a video of the woman's tantrum to the internet Monday morning. To no one's surprise, she — and all of us, really — have since gone crazy viral.
"F*ck Philadelphia! I could have driven there in the four hours I've been waiting here!" New York's everymom screams in the video as her daughter sobs nearby.
Her outburst reportedly began four hours into the 12-hour delay of an American Airlines flight from NYC to Miami.
"Don't give me this bullsh*t anymore! And you're all gonna pay for my Disney cruise and you're gonna pay for everything else here!" she tells the gate agent for her flight.
The rest of the unraveling:
"I'm getting everyone's name here! Cause you're all in sh*t!"
"I am! I'm going to write everything down! And I want everything! I'm sorry. You lied to me! You lied to me!"
"I'm sitting here since 8 'o' clock! With a 9-year-old who's waiting for her vacation! And my 13-year-old! And ME! And you're telling all this sh*t to all these people!"
"If there's no flight, just say there's no flight! SAY there's no flight!"
"We're waiting all our life for this! I'm waiting for this Disney's cruise for a year already!"
In response, an American Airlines spokesman sent the following email to the Daily Mail.
'We do apologize that passengers on American Airlines flight 2240 were delayed due to inclement weather at New York’s LaGuardia Airport. The inbound aircraft, which was coming from Miami, diverted to Philadelphia due to high winds at LaGuardia. The Federal Aviation Administration had air traffic control ground stops/ground delay programs in effect due to weather, which resulted in the diversion of the aircraft."
