Deer Park Police Blotter: Stolen Meat, Drugs, Assault

Man arrested in connection with stealing meat; woman accused of assault.

DEER PARK, NY — Curious about what's going on in your neighborhood? These are recent incidents reported in the Deer Park area from April 22 through April 28.

The Suffolk County Police Department posted the following information. All charges are accusations and do not signify guilt.

  • April 23: Beatrix Lacroix, 29, of Deer Park, struck a person in the head and caused injury on Green Meadow Drive in Deer Park. She was arrested and charged with third-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury, police said.
  • April 26: James Young, 53, of Scott Avenue in Deer Park, stole seafood from a Babylon supermarket on Deer Park Avenue. He was later arrested again for stealing "assorted meat products" from the supermarket, police said. Once in police custody, officers found two pipes with crack-cocaine in them. He was charged with two counts of petit larceny and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
