Farmingdale girls lacrosse beats Baldwinsville, 8-5, Saturday for state Class A title.

There’s a new way to describe the Farmingdale girls lacrosse team: State champions.
Behind a tournament MVP performance from senior Nadine Hadnagy, the Dalers earned an 8-5 win over Section III champ Baldwinsville Saturday to claim the state Class A title.
The University of Maryland-bound Hadnagy scored three goals and added an assist against Baldwinsville (15-6). She had three goals in the semifinals and four in the Long Island championship game.

The victory gave Farmingdale and coach Shari Campbell the programs third state championship. The Dalers won back-to-back titles in 2009-10 and Hadnagy was a member of the 2010 squad.
Farmingdale (16-3) jumped ahead 3-0, but Baldwinsville whittled away and Amari Pollard’s goal forged a tie at 4 with 23:03 left.

Hadnagy put the Dalers up for good with 21:43 to go, igniting a run of four straight goals to take command, 8-4.
Tara Wahl and Amanda Turturro each added two goals for Farmingdale.
That makes three titles in five seasons. Call these Dalers a dynasty!
