Farmingdale 2nd Grader is a Perfect '10'
Young man advances to nationals of the state PTA 'Reflections Contest.'

A second-grader at Farmingdale’s Northside Elementary School has won first place in a state-wide dance choreography contest.
The student, Hiram Cowhey, took the top prize in the dance choreography category at the New York State Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Reflections contest.
Reflections is the PTA’s arts program developed to encourage students to explore their talents and express themselves, organizers said. Cowhey’s entry exemplified the competition’s theme ‘The Magic of a Moment.’
His original ice skating composition outshined 563 statewide performers to earn him the NYS Parent Teacher Association Award of Excellence and qualify him for the national finals. Cowhey will showcase his entry at the 117th state PTA Convention in Saratoga Springs in November.
