Farmingdale State Advances to Skyline Semis

Rams men's basketball team earns 80-65 win over Sage Tuesday in Skyline Conference Tournament.

The Farmingdale State men's basketball team hit four straight three pointers as part of a 14-0 run to help blow past Sage College, 80-65, Tuesday in the first round of the Skyline Conference Tournament. 

Senior center A.J. Matthews led the way with 20 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks for the No. 4 seeded Rams (19-7), who advance to face No. 1 SUNY-Old Westbury Thursday in the conference semifinals.

Farmingdale State lost a pair games to rival Old Westbury (22-3) during the regular season, including a 90-88 double overtime defeat Nov. 29, 2012.

The Farmingdale women also earned the No. 4 seed and will travel to face No. 1 Mount St. Mary in the Skyline semifinals Thursday at 7 p.m.
