According to the Farmingdale-Bethpage Historical Society, the photo was of the Heiselmann Opera House on Main Street just south of Richard Street, which was built in 1909 and served as a community auditorium until 1915. It then became a woodworking shop, but that was destroyed by fire in 1923.
