Flower Shop Of Farmingdale Wins Best Florist, Best Wedding Florist On LI: 'It Feels Great'
"It's exciting that our customers feel that way about us, and that they continue to feel that way about us," the owner said.
FARMINGDALE, NY — Flower Shop of Farmingdale won two awards in the 2025 FourLeaf Best of Long Island Awards — one for the fourth year in a row and the other for the first time.
The shop, located at 316 Main St., added to its dynasty in the best florist category. However, it won Best Wedding Florist on Long Island for the first time, much to the delight of owner Jeanette Zimmerman-Schmidt.
Zimmerman-Schmidt said she is "very excited" her shop won best wedding florist.

"We have seen an influx of appointments coming in, which is really nice," she told Patch. "So I guess some of our brides were very happy and nominated us. We're looking forward to doing a lot more."
The florist touched on the differences that come in preparing a wedding bouquet compared to flowers for other types of events.

"There's a lot more preparation," Zimmerman-Schmidt said. "You are sitting with a bride for many months, changing things pretty regularly as they change minds or their table counts change. Things like that. It's somebody's special day, so you want to make sure [the flowers are] really, really perfect. It takes a lot of attention to detail, and you've got to be on top of it."
Zimmerman-Schmidt said "it feels great" to have won best florist on the island for the fourth consecutive year.
"It's exciting that our customers feel that way about us, and that they continue to feel that way about us. We really strive to be the best," she said.
Flower Shop of Farmingdale owes its consistent success to "great staff," the owner said.
"They know exactly how things should be and what our customers expect and what they've grown to expect over the years."
Zimmerman-Schmidt and her staff strive to maintain a high level of quality in every bouquet.
She thanked everyone who voted for Flower Shop of Farmingdale and nominated the business.
"We're super excited to be here again another year. We just celebrated 20 years in business, so that was a nice touch on top of everything."
The shop celebrated two decades in business with a ribbon cutting in December.
