Landing Strip: Farmingdale

Check out these great shots of America's military past coming alive at Republic.

When the skies cleared Sunday, allowing the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach to go on, Farmingdale's Republic Airport was transported back in time.

Republic was used for take-offs and landings for a variety of aircraft participating in the air show. Among those planes were a great collection of restored WWII-era planes, many of which are in the permanent collection of the American Airpower Museum.

These shots were taken by Ken Neubeck, who has been providing great photos from Republic all weekend.
