Woman, 82, Dies in Crash in East Farmingdale
One-car crash takes life of Rosedale woman.

An 82-year-old Rosedale woman died in a single-car crash on Route 109 in East Farmingdale early Sunday.
Suffolk County Police said Vera Quashie was driving a 2009 Hyundai Accent westbound on Route 109 when she lost control of the vehicle and struck a telephone pole on the north side of the road. The crash, at the intersection of Albany Avenue, took place about 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
Quashie, who was alone in the vehicle, was driving home from work at the Berkshire Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in West Babylon. She was transported by East Farmingdale Fire Department Rescue Squad to the Nassau University Medical Center where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
