Man Mugged Over E-Bike In Harlem, Police Say

Three people beat a man, stole his e-bike and fled in a black SUV.

HARLEM, NY — A man was mugged over an expensive e-bike by a group of robbers in Harlem, police said.

A 26-year-old man was standing in front of an apartment building on Claremont Avenue near Tiemann Place on the evening of May 11 when he was approached by three unknown men and punched repeatedly in the stomach, police said. The men grabbed the man's e-bike and hopped into a black SUV with the stolen vehicle to flee the scene, an NYPD spokesman said.

The victim refused medical attention at the scene of the crime, police said. Police estimated the bike's worth at $1,730.

Police released photos of the suspects — who are well disguised by masks and hooded jackets — and the getaway car taken by security cameras near the scene of the robbery.
