Man Punches, Pulls Gun On Harlem Deli Worker: Police

The man beat the clerk in a failed attempt to rob the deli, officials said.

HARLEM, NY — A man pulled a gun on and punched a deli worker in Harlem last month in a failed attempt to rob the store, police said.

On Dec. 28 at about 1:30 a.m., a man entered a deli on Saint Nicholas Avenue near 125th Street and punched the 62-year-old worker in the face, police said.

The would-be robber then pulled out a pistol and demanded money, but ultimately left the store empty handed, running away north on Saint Nicholas Avenue, officials said.

Police said that while the worker sustained minor injuries, he refused medical attention at the scene.
