Police Identify Man Killed On Hamilton Heights Street

An East Harlem man was the victim in Sunday's fatal shooting on Broadway in Hamilton Heights, police said.

HARLEM, NY — The man who was shot and killed on a Hamilton Heights street on Sunday has been identified as an East Harlem resident, police said Wednesday.

Jose Morales, 39, was the victim in Sunday's shooting, which happened around 3 a.m. near the corner of West 143rd Street and Broadway, according to police.

According to the New York Post, Morales had been shot outside a nearby club, then climbed into his car and drove for about a block before crashing.

He was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police have announced no arrests, but said an investigation is ongoing.
