14-Y-O Charged In Harlem Hit-And-Run That Critically Hurt Boy, 6: NYPD
A 14-year-old stands accused of hitting a 6-year-old boy with his scooter, leaving the child in critical condition, police said.

HARLEM, NY — A 14-year-old boy arrested Thursday stands accused of critically injuring a 6-year-old with a scooter and fleeing an East Harlem park, police said.
The teen struck the little boy with a two-wheeled scooter in Thomas Jefferson Park, near East 114th Street and First Avenue, about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.
The 6-year-old suffered brain bleeding and skull fractures when he was knocked to the ground, police said.

He remained in critical condition as of late Thursday night, police said.
The teen stayed in the park initially, but bolted just before police arrived in the East Harlem park, NYPD said.

The teen now faces charges of leaving the scene of an accident with a serious injury, police said.
