Cops: Dad Drove Drunk with Kids in Car in Dix Hills
Daughters, with minor injuries, were transported to Huntington Hospital after father crashed vehicle, police say.

A man drove drunk and crashed his vehicle while his kids were in the car Friday night in Dix Hills, authorities said.
Suffolk police say Mauricio Zamora, of Ronkonkoma, crashed his 2014 Honda Accord into the roadway median of the Westbound Long Island Expressway, between Exits 52 and 51, with his daughters, ages 9 and 11, in the vehicle at 10:24 p.m.
The daughters were transported to Huntington Hospital via Dix Hills Fire and Rescue and were treated for minor injuries. Zamora was not injured, police said.

Zamora, 40, was charged with aggravated DWI with a child 15 years old or younger (Leandra’s Law), driving while intoxicated and two counts of endangering the welfare of a Child.
The children were released into the custody of their mother, police said.

Zamora was scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Saturday.
